Enel Employees Give Time in National Green Up Our Community Project

Enel Employees Give Time in National Green Up Our Community Project
by Rachel Dahl --  Eighteen Enel Green Power employees recently donated a day of their time to make improvements to the arena at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. Working from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the crew contributed 153 man-hours and completely painted and repaired the inside and outside of the arena. Enel hosts what they call a “greening up” event every year to promote green spaces in the communities across the United States where they have operations. Jesse Segura works with the Fallon Enel employees on a regular basis and says it is great that they and this company are in Fallon. “Every year a crew of their employees takes the day off and does something good to support our community,” he said. “They have a good relationship with the county and the city, and this project for the fairgrounds will help all the efforts that are being made to attract more events to the community.” Over the past few years, Enel crews have worked on projects, from helping the Churchill Animal Protection Society, Parks and Recreation, and providing support for the new Fallon Youth Club. “In addition to producing clean energy resources, generating tax revenue, and creating local jobs, EGP-NA is committed to supporting the communities that support us,” said Melissa Morgante, vice president of Human Resources for Enel Green Power North America. “Our Green Up Our Community Day is just one example of how we do this. This day gives us the opportunity to meet members of the communities where we work, while also making an impact and doing good for the environment.” Enel in Andover Enel Green Power North America, Inc., is a leading owner and operator of renewable power plants in the U.S., including a hybrid geothermal/solar plant in Stillwater, and geothermal plant at Salt Wells, both located in Churchill County.
