Churchill County High School Junior Randen Ferguson is putting his learned construction skills into practice at Hammond Homes and Construction (HHC). Determined to break into the construction industry, Randen was relentless in asking me to help him secure a job with my husband, Trevor. As it turns out, his persistence paid off!
When I asked Trevor, a partner at HHC, about Randen, he joked, “He shows up to work when I ask him to!” But on a more serious note, he added, “It is nice to see a youth who is eager and interested in learning the construction trade. He is gaining skills that will benefit him for a lifetime, whether or not he chooses construction as a career.”
Randen is excited to gain experience, has a great work ethic, and has already proven to be a valuable asset on job sites. His persistence in securing this opportunity has paid off, and we are excited to see how he continues to grow in the construction field.
