Mayor Ken Tedford and Councilwoman Karla Kent took their oaths of office in a ceremony at City Hall before the first City Council meeting of the new year.
Tedford is the 14th mayor of the City of Fallon, which will celebrate 117 years of existence this year. During his brief remarks, Tedford expressed his love for Fallon and recognized several people he has worked with over the last 30 years, including Sen. Robin Titus, Rep. Mark Amodei, and former Gov., now University of Nevada President Brian Sandoval. He noted he has served alongside 14 council members during his tenure.
Tedford also quoted Colossians 3:12, a verse he reads daily: “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”
Brennan Behimer provided the opening prayer, Summer Stanton sang the national anthem, and Russ Houcks gave the benediction.
