Honor Societies Hold Coat Drives
Oasis Academy National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society have spent the holiday season helping the less fortunate with coat and hygiene drives.
National Honor Junior Honor Society’s Coat and Hygiene Drive started in November, and with the large amount of donations being made, it was extended through the Thanksgiving Break until December 12. New and gently used coats and hygiene items may be donated in the lobby of the K-8 building. National Junior Honor Society members are in seventh and eighth grade.
The Oasis Academy National Honor Society is also holding its annual Coat Drive for CASA. Donors may pick up an ornament tag from the tree in the front lobby of the high school and purchase a new coat for the child listed on the ornament. Their drive ends on December 17.
The coat drives serve as a powerful avenue for honor society students to engage in community service, embodying the values of leadership and compassion. By organizing such initiatives, these students fulfill service hour requirements and foster a sense of responsibility and empathy toward those in need.

Book Fair Back at Oasis Academy
The annual Scholastic Book Fair was held December 2-6. The winter wonderland-themed fair was open throughout the week for students and families.
The fair included guest readers and holiday activities along with books for sale. On Wednesday night, December 4, Santa attended, and with the help of local photographer Taryn Lenon, families could have photos with Santa.
Oasis Academy's parent organization, Friends of Oasis, hosts the fair. Each teacher was given money to spend at the fair to add to their classroom libraries.
The annual Book Fair was a great opportunity for students to discover new stories and a community gathering where families can connect over their love for reading. The fair featured a variety of titles catering to different age groups and interests, making it an exciting and interactive experience for young readers.
The memorable event was only possible with the parent volunteers and their countless hours preparing for and hosting the fair.
