Movies & More November 22 & 23

Last weekend, Lee Hardin’s sold-out comedy show was super exciting, and we hope we can offer the same kind of turnout for this weekend’s special guests - Steve & Raena. Also known as Wandering Songs, the singer-songwriter husband and wife acoustic duo have been traveling for two years, spreading joy with their melodies and interacting with audiences. We’re thrilled and excited to have them back in Fallon.

Kicking off the weekend, we have “Over the Hedge” as our 6 p.m. movie on both Friday and Saturday. A scheming raccoon fools a mismatched family of forest creatures into helping him repay a debt of food by invading the new suburban sprawl that popped up while they were hibernating and learns a lesson about family himself. This 2006 film is rated PG and has a runtime of 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Also playing on Friday, we have “Escape from Germany” at 7 p.m., sponsored by Fallon Family Dental Care and RE/MAX. In 1939, Hitler's army was closing borders, and eighty-five American missionaries were in Germany serving their church. The escape of these missionaries from Nazi Germany is one of the most dramatic events to occur in modern church history. The movie is rated PG and has a runtime of 1 hour and 37 minutes.

On Saturday at 7 p.m., we will be welcoming Steve & Raena to our stage. Admission is $12 at the door, and they have some special guests accompanying them, including local talent Annabelle, McKenzie James Warren, and his brother Matt Warren, with violin and cello. This will be a fantastic night of music, and we hope you will join us at the event.

December is bringing with it plenty of fun experiences and opportunities to make memories, starting with the annual tradition of the Maine Street Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, December 6, at 6 p.m. Immediately following the lighting, we will have the Lahontan Valley Concert Choir on stage for a short round of carols, and afterward, we will be showing two films sponsored by Sierra Financial, 1979s “Jack Frost” and 1946s“It’s a Wonderful Life.”

The following weekend, on December 13 and 14, Bassham Furniture is sponsoring a special “Polar Express” Weekend featuring three opportunities for a 4D experience with vibrations, scent, mist, confetti, and more. The complimentary hot cocoa bar will be available, and every child will receive a small gift. You can find more information on our website and through Facebook.

As always, if you would like to book a Marquee Message or reserve an auditorium for a party, please leave us a voice message at 775-423-6210.

It is life changing to not be able to pick up the phone just to say, "hello or I love you". However, knowing Violet's deep love and faith in Jesus; I can't only smile through the tears knowing she is in the presence of Jesus. How awesome is that? We all know her faithful belief and service... she is now receiving her eternal reward. Hallelujah! My prayers right now are for everyone who loved Violet. I pray the blood of Jesus over you, I pray for Jesus to hold you in his healing embrace, and I pray for the Holy spirit to grant you peace while you grieve. Violet always had a smile. I counted him, as well as his brother, John, as among my finest friends, although I have not seen either of them for many years. Both were a force. Coincidently I am moving from Oregon to Fallon soon, and I had counted on getting together with he and Mary. My deepest sympathies to her. Tom is missed.Comment publication date: 12/22/24, 6:46 PMComment source: Thomas ("Hutch" "Tucker Ryan") Lloyd Hutchings
