Carissa Parsons, a dedicated advocate during her time with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), played a crucial role in developing the Nevada Teen Peer Support Text Line and other mental health resources. Carissa recently learned she was earning the 2024 Young Innovator in Behavioral Health Award.
In recognition of this achievement, Parsons was honored today at the NAMIWalks event in Fernley. She received a Congressional Commendation from Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Sen. Jacky Rosen.
