The Performing Arts of Churchill County (PACC) is proud to announce the return of the Churchill Kids Choir (CKC). CKC seeks to foster a love of singing in children. Students will learn about breath support, pitch matching, and more techniques to improve solo and ensemble singing. No audition is required for the CKC, and the choir is open to all interested students currently enrolled in 3rd through 8th grade. The CKC is under the direction of longtime Churchill County music educator Tom Fleming and accompanist Noreen Swenson.
Registration began on August 12, and the registration form can be found online at the PACC website, paccnv.org. A $30 per child participation fee is due by the third rehearsal. This fee covers the cost of performances, shirts, and music.
Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, September 3, in the music room at Numa Elementary School at 4:15
p.m. The CKC rehearses every Tuesday from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. There will be additional Thursday rehearsals for students chosen for a special part beginning in late September and for the whole choir in October leading up to their performance of the mini-musical “The Christmas Carol” on the evening of December 12 at Numa Elementary School. More information about the mini-musical, auditions, and what will be required for those auditioning for a particular role will be given after the first rehearsal. Students may bring a water bottle with their name on it to each rehearsal.
