Experience the vibrant heartbeat of Great Basin at the Third Annual Moving Forward Together (MFT) Powwow, May 31 to June 2, 2024, at the Rafter 3C Arena, 227 Sheckler Road. The Powwow is free and open to the public; all are invited to attend and participate. 
MFT Powwow celebrates Indigenous culture and community spirit in Fallon, Nevada. This annual event promises an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages and backgrounds, featuring two distinct events: Cultural Night and the Social Powwow. 

Cultural Night is a Journey into Indigenous Existence & Wellness and will kick off the festivities on May 31 with an immersive exploration of Nevada's tribal heritage and traditions. Delve into the rich tapestry of Native culture through presentations, interactive workshops, and engaging speakers. Explore the bustling Indigenous Arts Market, where artisans showcase their wares and crafts passed through generations. Engage with tribal members and cultural experts who generously impart wisdom and knowledge. 

The highlight of the evening begins at 7 p.m. with a free speaking engagement with “You’re Favorite Indian” Dancin’ Dougie Hall, Native pro bronc rider, entrepreneur, and inspirational speaker. Join us as Dougie shares his insights on wellness and community, offering a powerful message, “Don’t Worry About It.” Meet Dougie at our VIP Meet and Greet at the Twisted Branch on 111 S. Celebrate the Social Powwow on June 1 and 2 with exhibitions, dance specials, and community games. Experience the energy of traditional dance and drum. Host drum, Ozuye, from Bismark, ND, will make their debut. Enjoy Emcee Tyson Shay from Fort Hall, ID, Co-Emcee Nizhoni Widehat from Reno, NV, Arena Director Hank Johnson from Reno, NV, and the Pyramid Lake Warriors and Veterans Color Guard. Experience guests the Crosswind Singers Elder Drum of Wyoming, Eagle Wings Pageant Dance Group of Reno, and special guest Iron Woman-Fancy Shawl 18+, Traditional Switch Dance, Potato Dance, Rabbit Dance, Sweetheart Dance, and ClownSwitch Dance. There will be contests and games, including Best Rez Car, NDN Car Pile-In, Stick Horse Relay, Open Mic, and Scavenger Hunts, to name a few. 
Attendees will have access to a variety of amenities and resources, including Indigenous arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, community resources, and Indigenous initiatives, including voter registration, suicide prevention, mental health wellness, agriculture, and culture.
