After battling illness for approximately 2 years, Micah Bowen (Johnson-Herwick) passed away on November 25, 2023, at 26 years old. She is survived by her father, Kelly Herwick; mother and step-father, Roberta and William White; sisters, Tatum Johnson-Herwick, Chloe White, Hailey Herwick; and brother, Warren White.
Micah was born and raised in Fallon, Nevada, with a very large, supportive, and loving family. She was the first daughter, granddaughter, and niece. As time passed, her family grew larger and led her to become the fun, loving, and caring big sister to her four siblings. She grew up with many memories of road trips, camping, fishing, and so much more. At a young age, she began a journey of sports, where she excelled at a high competitive level in track, volleyball, and softball. She played for high school teams and recreationally. She was smaller than most, but she brought the energy like dynamite.
She lived her life as a free spirit, a lover of the sea and stars; such a Pisces she was. She loved to road trip to new places and see new faces. Her travels would always bring her back home. This is where she loved it the most: with her loving family. Eventually, Micah met her greatest joy in life: Riley Bowen, whom she married in 2021. Riley loved and adored this spontaneous young lady, and little did he know that they would enjoy many future travels, adventures, and memories together. “To the moon and back!!! Times infinity” their love will always be.
Her smile was so beautiful it could light up the room. Her persona would keep us captivated and intrigued; she could always get us to laugh or smile, regardless of whether you were a friend or a complete stranger. Her free, kind-hearted spirit took her on a new journey, one that became so important to her: Burning Man. She became a part of the Burning Man community where she found many others who share the same caring, loving, and compassionate ways of being a free spirit.
Throughout all her battles in life, she always managed to hold her head up high while having a smile on her face; she showed no fear. Let us all reflect on what Micah touched us all with: let us smile to show no fear; let us be caring and compassionate for others; take our loved ones and go exploring; go on adventures to make new memories and be sure to share it with all our friends and family.
A celebration of life event in honor of Micah Bowen will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 1 p.m. at The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Hwy, Fallon, NV. Reception to follow at The Greenwave Sports Bar.
