U.S. Army soldier and 1999 CCHS graduate Kateri Erwin has returned to her hometown of Fallon with a passion for community health and fitness. Erwin is retiring from the Army in September and plans to share her love for Zumba and healthy eating with anyone willing to listen.
Erwin began doing Zumba in 2014 while stationed in Portsmouth, VA. Zumba, a Salsa Dance inspired interval workout, moves between high- and low-intensity dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and boost cardio endurance. Falling in love with the fun, fast-paced exercise, she began instructing.
With classes already underway on Saturdays at the Oasis Bowling Ally, Erwin follows up each session with healthy eating tips and some foods to try. Classes are $3. To join, visit 1555 Taylor Street 555 St Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.
