Obituary -- Cheryl E. Earl
Cheryl Earl

Our beautiful mother made her journey to the other side of the veil after a prolonged illness.

Cheryl E. Earl 75 passed peacefully on April 24th, 2023. She was born in Illinois to Otis and Dorothy Hasty in 1947. Preceding her in death are her husband George Earl, who was the love of her life, they married in 1985 and he left this world in 1993, then an old friend came back into her life, Mort Schmoe they were married in 2000, he left this world in 2007, also preceding her in death are her parents and a granddaughter Pamela McPeeters.

She is survived by her sons Earl (Lisa) Noel of Fallon, Daniel (Rusty) Diaz of Fallon, and Daughters Brittany Schmoe of Fallon, Nv., and Lynn (Donnie) Hansen Elko, Nv., along with 11 grandkids, 22 great-grandkids, and 1 great-great grandkid.

There is no love like the love of a Mother. Mom loved us all even when we did stupid things like the oldest getting stuck in a silo and the fire department had to come pull him out, or ditching school and she didn’t even spank us, or when we got a ticket for speeding before we had a drivers’ license, or even having to pick us up from the police station for reasons I’ll leave to your imagination. We knew when we were in trouble because of that old cliché, yep, she used our full names with that inflection of shock in her voice and that didn’t change with time, she used it on me not all that long ago. Mom was kind and loving to everyone she met, and the situation didn’t matter. Her love and kindness will leave a huge void in everyone’s life who was lucky enough to know her. I will miss my best friend.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, NV.

Arrangements are with Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon.  775-423-2255.
