Mrs. Wallace is our wonderful volunteer librarian. Recently, one of the preschool classes visited her in the library for storytime.
Mrs. Felte’s 5th/6th grade class’s Medieval Feast, as reported by the 5th/6th graders themselves:
On the fourteenth of April, in the Kingdom of Logos Christian Academy, at the Castle Lioness, the citizens of the fifth and sixth grades attended a grand and glorious feast. Each student dressed up as a character and participated in their assigned role. There were mistrals and a jester. The servants presented extravagant food to the king and queen, his royal highness Jason the Beardless, and the lovely Queen Anora. Everyone feasted on courses of the finest meat, succulent fruits, and vegetables. There was even a peacock pie. Adoring toasts to the king and his kingdom were made with “ale and mead.”
During the feast, the guests were entertained by minstrels and a jester with phenomenal juggling abilities. Because of some guests' antics, the king threatened to behead three guests.
Some knights also diligently exposed a plot they spoiled to smite the king. After the fabulous feast, the citizens gathered to raise cheers of “Hazzah!” in support of their favorite knights participating in a tournament complete with jousting and other knightly games.
The king and queen's fathers controlled the games and regulated them tightly, often reminding contestants that they would be beheaded if they beat the king. This led the contestants to scoff and claim that something foul was happening in the kingdom.
The final quest came in the form of a dragon that needed to be slain. The feast was an event that will go down in history and always be remembered by its participants.
