Obituary - JoyAnn Trula Edwards Anderson

On March 10, 2023, JoyAnn beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at 90 in Fallon, NV.

She was born in Iowa City, Iowa on October 1, 1932. She and her mother then moved to Otis, Colorado where she was raised and met her first husband Jess Lanning. They had a daughter Ilo and later divorced.

 

She met Kenneth Ryle and they had three children, Michael, Patrick, and Chris.

 

In August 1971, JoyAnn married Vern “Andy” Anderson. They were married for 44 years until his death in 2015.

 

JoyAnn was a cook at the Fallon Nugget for 26 years. She was famous for her soups. She also worked at the Officer’s Club at the Naval Air Station Fallon where her co-workers and servicemen called her “Mom.”

 

JoyAnn loved to travel. Her daughter Chris was her great travel companion throughout the US and Canada.

 

She loved her Cats and was a very giving person. She had a great sense of humor and touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husbands, grandchildren, Cheryl Reiners and Eric Scovill, and numerous friends.

 

She is survived by her children Ilo (Mike) Scovill of Otis, CO, Michael (Julie) Ryle, Patrick (Connie) Ryle, from Fallon, NV, and Chris (Loyde) Snodgrass from Lovelock, NV; grandchildren Michaela Ryle, Amber Ryle, Wilbert “Bill” (Molly) Snodgrass, Ian (Heidi) Ayers, Jodie (Aaron) Sherman, Patricia (Larry) Pruit, and Robbie (Sarah) Irvin; great-grandchildren Karisa Zeirolf, Scarlet Ryle, Alyssa and Aaron Ayers, Justin and Natalie Sherman, Cadence and Luke Pruit.

 

There will be no services as per her request. She donated to several organizations. Any donations can be sent to Shriners’ Children’s Hospital, FAWG in Fallon, or Safe Haven.

JoyAnn was a beautiful, loving person and a great friend. We are all better for having known her. She will surely receive her "angel wings" in heaven very quickly as she couldnt take her other pair with her.
