Robert Ansotegui, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on October 4, 2022, just 4 days before his 97th birthday.
Bob was born October 8, 1925, in McDermitt, Nevada to Victorio and Victoria Ansotegui. He was the youngest of 8 children. He spent his youth in southern Oregon. He entered the US army in 1943 and was stationed in France during World War II.
In 1946 he married Zelda Reamsnyder and together they had 3 children. In 1951 the family moved to Paradise Valley, Nevada. During the 10 years he lived in Paradise Valley he worked as a mechanic and rancher. He served as Justice of the Peace for 7 years and was also a charter member of the Paradise Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
In 1961 Bob moved his family to Fallon, Nevada when he and his brother, Ray bought the Builder’s Supply Company. He later owned and operated the Nevada Home Improvement Center.
In 1980 he married Jeanne Broyles and acquired another loving family. In 1987 he and Jeanne both retired and he spent his retirement years enjoying the great outdoors and working on his various hobbies.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Santy, Ray, and Vic and sisters Juanita, Candy, Thomasa, and Josephine. He is survived by his wife Jeanne and children Sandra (Bob) Nelson of Casper, Wyoming, Steve (Mary) Ansotegui of Troy, Idaho, and Mike Ansotegui of Virginia City, Nevada; 6 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also stepchildren, Suzette Hughes, Lynne Broyles, Sam Broyles, and step-grandsons Tyler and Trevor Detomasi.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 11 a.m. at The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Hwy., Fallon, Nevada.
