Fisk Farm Herbs, Two Ravens Farm, and Mewaldt's Farm have merged to create the Triple Goddess CSA with this trio of lady farmers producing artfully filled farm baskets on a bi-weekly basis.
Two years ago, Stacy Fisk, Jaime Sammons, and Korena Mewaldt began providing seedlings as a team to the community. The three farms have been collaborating ever since, evolving Mewaldt's CSA basket into the Triple Goddess CSA.
Farms that participate in Community Supported Agriculture contribute fresh, local produce, eggs, honey, and a variety of other products from their farms to the farm baskets, with the contents of each changing every time depending on what is growing that particular week.
Besides fresh produce including arugula and mixed salad greens, green and purple onions, baby potatoes, eggs, and fresh herbs, the Triple Goddess CSA baskets have also contained goodies such as edible and decorative fresh flowers, infused vinegar, lavender honey, and fragrant handmade soaps and candles. Each basket also includes a special recipe such as Elderflower Cordial and their Triple Goddess CSA Garden News flier providing a list of the basket's contents, which farm each item is from, and what's happening at each farm that week.
Brad and Stacy Fisk started Fisk Farm Herbs in 2017, and now raise over 75 varieties of wellness and culinary herbs. They have also expanded their farm to include bush beans, sweet corn, cantaloupes, spinach, snap peas, onions, and even what they refer to as “experimental vegetables.”
Kevin and Jaime Sammons have been cultivating their four-acre veteran-owned and operated Two Ravens Farm together since 2013 growing a variety of heirloom peppers, tomatoes, fruit, herbs, and flowers. The name Two Ravens was derived from two “mischievous raven visitors who would regularly help themselves to eggs in the chicken coop”.
Bill and Korena Mewaldt have cultivated a nine-acre organic farm together since 1994 that provides produce for local markets, restaurants, the Great Basin Community Co-op, the Fallon Food Hub, and the Triple Goddess CSA. They enjoy growing quality vegetables for the community and partnering with the CSA program.
