Herman Glenn Dixon passed away at his home on April 18, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was born on November 28, 1933, in Schurz, Nevada. He was a member of the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe and proudly served as a Council Member of the FPST Tribal Council as well as a member of various boards, including the Fallon Tribal Development Corporation. Herman graduated from Churchill County High School. Soon after graduation, he joined the US Army and later made his career working at the Hawthorne Ammunition Depot and later at the Fallon Naval Air Station in Ordnance.
Herman was an avid sportsman; he was always up for fishing and hunting. He loved working with his hands, especially with woodworking projects. He loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed coaching and playing softball in his younger years. He was a generous and gentle man, sharing his wisdom and sense of humor with all.
Herman was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Ann Dixon, his mother Agnes Weeks, his father Gardner Allen, as well as siblings Dorlen Dixon, Laverne Champagne, Sandra Allen, and Harriet Allen.
He is survived by his son & daughter in law Jeff & June Cox, granddaughters Kimberly Cox and Morgan Dixon, great-grandson Barrett Claussen, stepchildren Jacqueline Privett, Tracy Sullivan, James Busby and Patrick Busby, siblings Merlin Dixon, Linda Oxborrow, Jenevie Lucero, Nellena Allen, Jack Allen, Nora DeWitt, and Norman Allen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 14, 2022, at 11:00 am at The Gardens Funeral Home, with interment to follow. Luncheon will immediately follow at the FPST Tribal Gym located at 8955 Mission Road, Fallon, NV.
