The Mary Sauer Memorial Toy Closet made Christmas wishes a reality for local foster children. In 2021, the Closet provided 409 brand-new toys. 361 of those toys were given out during the Christmas season. The purpose of the Mary Sauer Memorial Toy Closet is to ensure that foster youth and children in need are able to have their Christmas wishes would come true each year.
Toys are normally donated through the Mary Sauer Memorial Fun Run, but unfortunately due to Covid, the event was unable to be held in either 2020 or 2021. But never fear, our community rose to the occasion and through various community partners every youth's wish list was able to be filled. Each foster youth received three to four toys, some stocking stuffers, and most received a handmade quilt as well.
We are very grateful to Nobody’s Forever, Joe McCourtney, Fitness for 10, Starr Friedenthal and the Hearts of Gold Quilters, Vonda Norcutt, Mary Sorenson, Naomi Reeves, Alicia Stadler, and Sharon Peters for their donations. We also want to thank our Friends of CASA volunteers, especially Carry Thibaut and DeVere Karlson, for all they did to make this Christmas so special for so many youths.
We are so fortunate to have such an amazing community filled with so many giving hearts. Thank you for your continued support.
