Velma “Wendy” Lutgen, loving mother and wife, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2021. Wendy was 54 and surrounded by a loving family when she returned to be with the Lord. Wendy is survived by her husband Paul, her sons Alan and Zachary, her sisters Patty and Betty. Her extended family from her marriage was so close to her that she would call them her own, parents David and Gena, and brother Curt. Also, to include her extended military family and friends that had filled her life with so much joy.
Wendy was born in San Diego, CA, and grew up in a military family. Her father and grandfather both served the military, so it was no surprise she found the love of her life that was serving in the Navy. Paul and Wendy meet in the early part of 2001 and quickly knew that their lives were meant to be together. Through their 20 years of marriage and military life, they lived in several different places and meet many people that would become more than family and friends. Throughout their time in the Navy, Fallon was always the one place that they loved to visit. Once they decided to retire, they knew Fallon was going to be their forever home.
Wendy was such a loving and pure soul; she was always putting everyone’s needs before hers. Her beautiful loving smile always lit the room and made everyone smile with her. Her husband would always tell her she was a true gift from God, one of his angels. She also had the ability to show unselfish love that she gave to everyone that was sweet as honey. Because of the wonderful woman she was her husband would call her is Honey Angel. Even though she is gone her smile still fills everyone’s heart and life with so much joy and happiness. She will be forever in our hearts and lives.
