Community Service Week Kicks off with Proclamation

Community Service Week Kicks off with Proclamation
Staff report -- Mayor Ken Tedford has officially proclaimed April 8th - 14th as Community Service Week in Fallon during a ceremony at city hall with JustServe.org committee members and supporters. The community has come together over the past month to plan and identify several projects and is all ready to clean, paint, run, plant, and donate. There are still plenty of opportunities to get involved for anyone or any organizations who are interested. So far projects include: tree planting at three different locations throughout the city, a book drive at Oasis Academy, a blood drive at the hospital, cemetery clean up, clean up at the Pennington Center, painting at the historic Fallon Theatre, book wrapping at the library, a 5K run on the 13th, weeding at CAPS, and many many more. A complete list of projects and volunteer opportunities can be found on the JustServe.org website.   Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon.
