He was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on the same day – a gross misdemeanor that can carry up to 364 days in jail. The criminal complaint alleged that Castillo-Estrada possessed a “tooter straw” (used for snorting substances through the nose). Mandi Dawn Dunbar (in custody) appeared for arraignment on charges of Offer, Attempt, or Commission of an Act Related to Certain Controlled Substance, a Category C Felony, which carries 1-5 years in prison. Allegations stated that on July 1, at 1960 W. Williams Avenue, Dunbar sold a Schedule IV controlled Substance, specifically Alprazolam, to a cooperating source. Dunbar was assigned to a public defender and granted an OR release under the supervision of Court Services. Additionally, she is to have no contact with her boyfriend, Joshua Feddern-Wiles, who was in the vehicle with her at the time of her arrest and allegedly also possessed a controlled substance. A status hearing was scheduled for October 21.

Anthony Parris (in custody) appeared for arraignment on charges of Buying, Possessing, or Receiving Stolen Property under $2,500. The criminal complaint alleges that on January 14, 2021, at 137 ½ Nevada Street, Parris possessed multiple stolen knives, a gas mask, and miscellaneous ammunition. A second count alleged that on January 12, Parris was also in possession of a stolen U.S.M.C. elite tactical hatchet valued at $25 or more. According to Assistant District Attorney Chelsea Sanford, Parris is being held on approximately six other charges. Churchill County Public Defender’s Office was assigned to represent Parris, which is handling his other cases. He is to reappear for a status hearing before Judge Trotter on October 28.
