Witches and warlocks will be flying around town on their bicycles Saturday, October 30, for the Annual Witches Ride starting at 10:30 a.m. at The Grid. Sorcerers are encouraged to wear their best costumes for this event. Their rides should be equally embellished – the crazier, the better.
Riders will follow a five-mile route through town that will include a new stop at the Nomadic Apothecary at 510 S. Maine Street. Other confirmed stops include Memorie Boutique, His Inspirations, Telegraph Coffee and Tap, and The Grid. Tentative stops include the Twisted Branch, Stone Cabin, and Cranberry Cottage. Mystical participants of drinking age (21+) can also participate in gathering poker cards from each stop to get the best five-card poker hand possible. The poker run entry fee is $10 with the winner getting half the pot. The other half being donated to the City of Fallon Animal Shelter who received $120 from last year's ride.
Each witch and warlock rider will receive a map with all of the stops and can land their flight at any or all of those locations. Raffle prizes will also be awarded to the participants at the completion of the ride.
In celebration of The Grid's two-year anniversary, their Second Annual Corn Hole Tournament will take place that afternoon. Churchill Animal Protection Society (CAPS) will also be present with their pooch kissing booth and will hold an animal costume contest at 3:00 p.m. on the rear patio.
Tiffany Picotte of The Grid summed it up nicely. “The Witches Ride doesn't cost anything to ride unless they're playing a poker hand, and no advance sign-up is needed. They just show up dressed up that day and be ready to have fun with their bike.”
