Mary Alice Norman passed away peacefully in her home due to complications from diabetes and congestive heart failure (CHF) on May 30, 2021, at the age of 63.
Mary was born on July 27, 1957, to Bobby and Barbara Bates in Glendora, California. At the age of two, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Not expected to outlive her adolescence, she overcame the odds of her disease. She married her life-long friend and love Bryan Norman on July 10, 1976. They lived in San Dimas for 13 years before moving to Fallon, Nevada in 1989.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a model Sister and Aunt. She was full of love and she thrived off her family and friends whom she loved and kept close.
She is survived by her mother Barbara Bates, her husband Bryan Norman, her daughters Christina (Jeremy) Leary, Shannon (Richard) Chadwick, her grandchildren Kyndra Leary, Brenden Leary, Aleisa Billips, Damien Billips, and Jack Chadwick. She is also survived by her sisters Vernell Monsour, Becky Bates, Shawna (Shawn) Hanneman, Shonee Seidler, her brother, Robert (Diane) Bates, and her Aunt Shirley Bryant; also including many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her son Christopher Leslie Norman, Father Bobby Bates, Sister Gloria Morrison, and Niece Anne Marie Monsour.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Smith Family Funeral Home, Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. Following the service will be a celebration of life at Bryan and Mary’s home 5250 Bottom Rd. Fallon, NV 89406.
