We. Will. Get. That. Magazine. Done.
It has been the theme of this whole week. Really the month, but we’re all just exhausted by our brilliant idea to do a magazine and have lost all sense of humor over how amazing we thought it would be. There’s also year-end financial stuff, it snowed, the heater in the office won’t work right, it snowed, we’re a day behind and did I mention it snowed.
We did however get Jo on board to write — what a joy that has been. And we have Laura editing and proofreading, and scrappy Alicia doing basically anything that comes up. She’s like Mikey in the cereal commercial only instead of eating anything, she‘ll do anything. If this saucy little blonde shows up in your establishment wanting to sell you an ad, just buy one. Or she’ll want to write a story about you, ‘cause then you’ll feel like you have to buy an ad. She just knows it.
Right now she and Trevor (the large man-child if you remember my old columns from the Anne Pershing days) are over there on the big computer YouTubing how to print labels from an excel spreadsheet, while I’m on the iPad writing this.
Leanna’s run off to Texas — testing our make-this-work-remotely theory. Viviane has not run off to the tropics, she is stuck in Reno because of the weather so it’s a dang good thing we’re getting this remote thing down. She is not able however, to explain the label thing because she says she doesn’t know how to do them — she just gets lucky every week and it works by chance.
It’s like a lot of things around this joint. We’re blessed by chance. Everything is always working out for us. How does it get better than this?!?
Like Ken Tedford’s dad always told him — surround yourself with good people. That’s the only way. And I’m surrounded by the best.
Keeping you posted,
Rachel
