A proud mother contacted The Fallon Post to give us a bit of information on her two sons, Eddie and Matt Gelineau, that have started a business in the Fallon area. Together the brothers have founded GEM Drafting and opened an office at 4082 Reno Highway.
After graduating from Churchill County High School, both of the brothers left the Fallon area and spent some time gaining a variety of different experiences that would eventually be put to use when they decided to return to their hometown, join forces, and start their business.
Much of the work that is involved in the drafting and designing of their projects can be done remotely, and this has allowed GEM to expand their projects into various areas of Reno and even into areas of Idaho. The company has worked on a number of large projects such as the renovation of the Public Works Building on Maine St. in Fallon, the Municipal Courtroom redesign, the Chemistry and Physics Hall at UNR, the remodeling of the gym at Swope Middle School in Reno, various work for contractors in planning subdivisions (Onda Verde being one), and even helping individuals plan their dream homes.
Matt and Eddie share more than the desire to see their business grow, they share a vision that builds an understanding of the growth possibilities in their industry. They hope to share with students and the community the many options for employment that are available in the area of drafting, design, and BIM (Building Information Modeling).
