Roy S. Corkill went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2020 after a long hard-fought battle with colon cancer. He was born April 18, 1956 to Richard T. Corkill and Alma R. Whisenhunt in Fallon, Nevada. Roy loved going to boat races, drag races, fishing, and was an avid trap shooter. He and his stepfather, Dave Tuttle, went to many trap shooting events over the years. He won the Nevada championship in Elko, Nevada. He loved hanging out at Georges’ shop and drinking beer with the guys. He had a green thumb and spent most of his time in the garden but also loved canning some of the things he grew.
Roy and Launa moved to Meridian, Idaho in 2005 and lived there up until his death. He had many friends in Fallon and Idaho.
Roy was a hard worker, loved math and real estate, but his passion was in the insurance industry, which he worked in for many years. He retired when cancer struck in 2017. Roy found the Lord and, to his family’s surprise, was baptized in 2017. He and Launa, the love of his life, married on October 13, 2018, after 38 years together.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard, stepfather Bud Jensen, stepfather Dave Tuttle and his sister Rachelle (Corkill) Birch. He is survived by his wife Launa, her children Nikki and Lynda and their families, mother Bobbie Tuttle, sisters Ruth (Mike) Betancourt, Renae (Kurt) Paholke, niece Karina (Jacob) Davis, nephews Daniel (Becca) Birch, Sean Roy Moore, and Jordan Paholke.
At Roy’s request, there will be no services.
