Emmanuel Acho thinks the only way we can remedy racism in this country is to talk about it. To tell each other how we feel and why. And to listen to each other and try to understand. Understand what systemic racism is. Understand why black families stuggle. Understand why so many blacks are incarcerated. And ultimately to understand how to end racism.
You might know of Acho from his years playing ball for the NFL, an ESPN sports analyst, and currently as a Fox Sports analyst. His popular YouTube videos include conversations with Matthew McConaughey, officers with the Petaluma Police Department, Chelsea Handler, and others. They are informative, sometimes funny, and always uncomfortable.

Carol Lloyd is the Director of the Churchill County Library and has recently "been down the racism/black experience rabbit hole" in her reading. She says there is so much good and interesting information available, and in spite of the tough nature of the topic we should all make an effort and not just, "have another cocktail and move past it."
