Jerri Fry Cornu has returned to Fallon and opened her own business, My Gypsy Soul, at 625 W. Williams ste C.
Jerri was raised in the Fallon area, her family came to the area to support her grandfather when he opened a tire business, later to be known as Payless Tire, in 1974. She was the owner of Friends for 18 years, a salon on Maine Street.
After many years in Fallon, she and her husband, Rick, decided to venture to Oregon. While in Oregon, Jerri suffered some back injuries, and then, tired of fighting the snow and the many inclines of the terrain there, they decided to return to Fallon and family.
Upon returning, Jerri went back to working as a hairstylist. A client came in one day and showed her some pictures, and she asked her if she could make some items out of leather. Jerri has sown since she was a little girl but had not done anything with leather. Those pictures were the spark that motivated Jerri to get a sewing machine for leather and starting to play around with the idea of crafting with leather.
Jerri proudly said of the boutique she recently opened, “I’m a one stop shop.” When you swing by the shop, you will see the many purses Jerri custom makes today, maybe design some embroidery to be done, enjoy browsing through some of the unique gift items in her shop, or make an appointment to get your hair done. It’s one stop that offers much.
A gypsy soul is one that is always in need of change and/or adventure, seeking the next best thing in any life situation. This ambiance is one that Jerri hopes her customers will enjoy as they visit her very special spot.
