Criminal & Court News -- District Court

The Nevada 10th Judicial District Court convened Tuesday, September 29, 2020, with Judge Tom Stockard presiding.

Isabelle Corwin, who is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, did not appear for the scheduled arraignment. Corwin received a one-week continuance at the request of her defense counsel, Charles Woodman, Esq.

Benito Credo Camba (74) was arraigned on two counts of alleged lewdness with a child under 14 years old, with the charges citing two different victims. Each count, a category A felony, carries a penalty of life in prison with the possibility of parole after ten years. Michael Becker, Esq., retained defense counsel for Camba, expressed his intent to have him evaluated due to his advanced age, a previous stroke, and the possibility of dementia. Camba entered a not guilty plea on both counts. A criminal settlement conference will be held in place of a jury trial in which a senior or District Court judge from another county will preside.

Tom Lee Furr entered a plea of no contest on charges of battery with a deadly weapon, which carries a term of 2-10 years in prison. The charge was reduced from attempted murder per plea negotiations with the State. According to Furr, he was under the influence at the time and does not recall the incident. Defense counsel, Jacob Sommer, Esq., stated that last December Furr entered the Fallon Pizza Factory with a knife and did stab another individual. Furr requested an O/R release from custody, which was denied. Chief Deputy District Attorney, Lane Mills, argued against his release based on Furr’s extensive criminal history which includes multiple violent crimes. Judge Stockard reduced Furr's bail from $1,060,000 to $250,000. He will appear for sentencing on December 22nd.

Dwane Richard Thompson did not appear for arraignment. A Failure to Appear (FTA) warrant was issued with a no-bail hold.

Jordan Paul Tracy entered a guilty plea two on counts; possession of a firearm with a domestic violence conviction and dissuading a person from testifying or producing evidence. According to defense counsel, Jacob Sommer, Esq., on April 5th, 2020, Tracy was illegally in possession of a firearm and did also take away or refused to return a cell phone belonging to another individual to prevent a 911 call. He will appear for sentencing on December 22nd.
