Community supports family at candlelight vigil Sunday night

Vigil held for 13-year-old Jaiden Barajas

Family and friends of Jaiden Barajas, a 13-year-old Churchill County Middle School student, were joined by more than 150 members of the community tonight at a candlelight vigil. Barajas was fatally struck by a GMC truck Friday near the intersection of Carson River Road and Rice Road.

To support the family, a GoFundMe page has been set up in Jaiden’s memory. Go to GoFundMe for Jaiden There are also collection/contribution buckets to help the family at Stone Cabin coffee shop.

The investigation is ongoing and this story will continue to be updated.
