Jim F. Kirn was born October 22, 1947 in Fallon, Nevada to Phil and Bertha Kirn. He died May 13, 2020 in Reno.
Jim was married to Denise Mookini Kirn for 45 years and together they were the parents of sons Bobby (wife Michelle, grandchildren Manakai and Heloke Kirn), and David all of Reno; and Diana Larsen (husband Clayton, grandchildren Kyle, Brenden and Bryce Larsen from Fallon, Nevada). He is also survived by sisters Kay Harmon (Don), and Janis Clark his twin (Tom), both from Fallon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Kevin, and brother Dennis.
Jim was retired from the Carpenters Local 971 and worked for many years for Omboli Interiors. He served in the artillery division of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. That concept of giving service continued as he was a volunteer fireman for over 20 years at the Brown Huffaker Fire Station, and he supported the Reno community by volunteering at the Reno Rodeo.
Jim loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family and friends. His warm smile and kind heart will long be remembered by many.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be determined at a later date.
