Fallon, NV – Churchill County and the City of Fallon would like to applaud Governor Sisolak for listening to and working with local government to find a solution to get our community back to work. The County and City have worked together over the past several weeks to plan and implement processes to ensure that our community was prepared to meet the required metrics to move to Phase 1. We remain extremely proud of our community and their diligence through this process. Together, our efforts have prepared us for this important move to start the reopening process.
Local leadership recognizes the importance of the guidance enacted by Governor Sisolak to ensure we continue to draw out the spread of COVID-19 so we may safely and smartly open our local businesses. Governor Sisolak has given local governments the authority to impose stricter restrictions than his Phase 1 reopening standards, but Churchill County and the City of Fallon do not believe that stricter restrictions are necessary in our community.
Churchill County and the City of Fallon stand ready to work with local businesses that are reopening as well as those that have been serving the public over these past seven weeks. It is imperative that local businesses enact the Governor’s new guidance to limit the spread of the virus and ensure economic vitality as we move forward. We must all work together aggressively in implementing the guidance plan to ensure that we can transition into phase 2 and 3 as soon as possible, rather than sliding back into more additional shelter-at-home restrictions.
Industry-specific guidance was released by the Governor’s office this afternoon for additional clarification for local businesses.
As a community we must continue to work diligently both as individuals and businesses to ensure the protection of our vulnerable populations as well as our economic security.
We urge local businesses to follow the Governor’s guidance plan in its entirety as you work to develop a reopening plan tailored to your unique and essential business to prepare for your opening on May 9.
