Numa 4th Grade Pioneer Project

by Susan Weikel -- Fourth grade students at Numa Elementary made a pioneer quilt. They are learning about pioneers, and how they lived during the 1800s. Quilts were made out of "memories". Any material the pioneers had was used to make blankets. For example, wedding dresses, baby clothes, even clothes from people who had died. Students made their own quilt and wrote their own memories on the quilt. Alissa Bailey, a 4th grade teacher,  combined all the quilt pieces to make the final product.       Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon.
