Velma Velet Potts Gilmore, Born February 23, 1960 in Nephi, Utah, died November 17, 2019 in her home in Fallon, Nevada at the age of 59.
Raised in Delta, Utah she graduated from Delta High School in 1978. In 1983 while working at the man-camp outside of Delta Utah, she met the man she spent the rest of her life with, marrying Thomas Lee Gilmore on May 4, 1985 in Delta, Utah. She went on to have three children with him; Thomas William Gilmore (son), Barney Lake Gilmore (son), and Bobbie Lee Gilmore (daughter).
In 1988 she moved to Fallon Nevada to be with her husband. During her time in Fallon she worked for Churchill County School District as a Teachers Aide and as a homemaker. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother; gone too soon from our lives. We will always remember her smiles and playful nature and her laughs when she would startle us or tell a joke. She will be forever missed and live on in our hearts.
Velma is survived by Barney (Brother), Selma (sister), Neta (sister), April (Sister), Dean (Brother-in-Law); husband Thomas; children Thomas and Bobbie; Lauren (Daughter-in-Law), and 9 grandchildren. She has gone to be with her mother Leona, sister Minnie, and her youngest son Barney.
A Celebration of Velma’s life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Gardens Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway Fallon, NV 89406, 775 423-9029.
