Greenwave Marching Band at UNR Event

Greenwave Marching Band at UNR Event
The Churchill County High School "Greenwave Marching Band" competed this weekend at the University of Nevada in the 40th annual Sierra Band Crusade presented by Absolute Music, a competition for high school marching bands in Nevada and beyond.  Directed by Tom Fleming, Drum Major Curtis Nesbitt led the band in a medly of Beatles favorites. The CCHS Color Guard was led by Kristina Lee. The Sierra Band Crusade, according to the UNR website, "provides audiences with an outstanding opportunity to be wowed by outstanding high school bands from the region, and gives friends, family and communities an opportunity to support their students in a high-profile stadium. High school bands benefit from an opportunity to visit the University of Nevada's beautiful campus, to perform in the recently renovated Mackay Stadium (with its high-vantage press box) for an audience of several thousand, and to receive adjudication from nationally recognized judges." In their last performance of the year, the CCHS band competed in the Class AA divison against Carson, Elko, North Valleys, Galena, Spanish Springs, and Douglas High Schools, coming in 7th place.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
