Local Firemen on Standby for Wood Canyon Wildfire
  The Sierra Front Field office of the Bureau of Land Management received several calls today reporting a fire burning in what has come to be called the Wood Canyon Fire north of Fallon in the Stillwater Mountains. According to the BLM, the fire has is burning 100 acres on public lands. Firemen from the Fallon/Churchill Fire Department have offered assistance and are currently in standby. The BLM has a nmber of ground and air resources deployed at this time, and a number of hotshot crews are passing through Fallon en route to the area.
