CAPS Spotlight

Star is a 2-year-old Terrier mix who is as sweet as she is energetic! She loves meeting new people and is always excited to make new friends. Star is housetrained and gets along well with other dogs, though she prefers her doggie friends to be just the right match. With her high energy, Star will need a home that can keep up with her active lifestyle, including a secure yard with a tall fence, as she’s quite the jumper. She enjoys exercise and playtime and would thrive in a home where she can burn off that energy. Star is currently in training to learn even more skills to be the best companion she can be.

CAPS is located at 5894 Pasture Road, 775-423-7500. You email for information at [email protected]

Fallon Animal Shelter

Say hi to Hera. This very friendly girl is 8 months old, and while she might be shy at first, she is very cuddly. She shows so much emotion she will be your best friend if you take the time. Hera is good with dogs; however, she has no history with cats. She has minimal leash training but is coming along. Come in and check Hera out, or give us a call at the Fallon Animal Shelter.

FAWG

Meet Spot, a sweet and gentle 2-year-old white male cat with a heart full of potential. A little shy and reserved, Spot enjoys observing the world from a quiet, safe place. Behind his timid nature is a tender soul waiting for the right person to help him blossom.

Spot thrives in calm, patient households and would do best as a solo pet or with a gentle, non-dominant companion. With time and understanding, Spot is sure to form a deep bond with his new family.

He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to start his new chapter. Could you be the one to give Spot a forever home?

For more information, contact the Fallon Animal Welfare Group, a 501(c)(3) charity supporting cats and kittens in Churchill County. Call 775-217-4745 or, for barn cats, contact Pat at 775-217-7248. Let’s help Spot find the loving family he deserves.

HagenComment text: What are MFNs and PBMs ?? ............................ From the editor: This is a very good question and we apologize for not catching that wasn't in there. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
