Obituary - Ken Pirkle

Obituary - Ken Pirkle

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Edwin Pirkle, 74, of Fallon, Nevada, who passed away on December 25, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Ken was born on September 13, 1950, in Portales, New Mexico, to his parents Carroll and Laura June Pirkle. He spent his childhood in Castle Rock, Colorado, before moving to Fallon, Nevada in 1963 with his parents and his two brothers, Gary and Randy Pirkle.

Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pam Pirkle, and his parents. He is survived by his brothers, Gary and Randy (Carole), two children, Tami (James) Richardson, and Kenny (Shannon) Pirkle, and his four grandchildren, Connor and Brock Richardson, Broden and Kenlie Pirkle, who were the light of his life.

Ken had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, and camping which he enjoyed with his family and friends. He was known for his patriotism, strong beliefs, and his love for his family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.

A service to honor Ken’s life will be held on January 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Garden’s Funeral Home. In a tribute to his love of hunting, the family invites friends and family to wear Camo Casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Fallon Nevada Big Horns Unlimited P.O Box 2308, Fallon, NV 89407, in Ken’s memory.

Ken will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
