Veritas Preparatory School

Veritas Preparatory School

The school was recently visited by special guests Jozi, Gerda, and Rex from the NAS Fallon K9 Unit. Everyone was treated to an exhibition from the Military Working Dog (MWD) handlers. The handlers demonstrated examples of the dogs’ training, including several commands and “tricks.”  Each dog also completed a short obstacle course.

Throughout the demonstration, students learned much about the U.S. Naval Military Working Dog program. Handlers discussed the training process, where the military typically finds dogs for the program and the situations that might require the use of a dog. Students were given the opportunity to see the dogs chase down a “bad guy” and bring him to swift compliance.

Veritas would like to thank the NAS Fallon K9 Unit for a remarkable and enlightening experience.
