“Becoming an Eagle Scout is a great accomplishment; being an Eagle Scout is a great responsibility,” Steve Endacott, Troop Charter Representative from Fallon Rotary, said.

On Saturday, October 30, at Oats Park Arts Center, three Oasis Academy Juniors, dually enrolled at Western Nevada College, received their Eagle Scout in a Court of Honor surrounded by over 100 of their family and friends. Zandar Sheldon-Davis, Austin Thibodaux, and Aidan Clark are now part of the elite and have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. All three boys have been involved in scouting since they were Tiger Cubs at the age of six. Each boy had to, at a minimum, complete 21 merit badges, be a leader, complete many hours of community service, and plan and carry out a service project.

Combined, they completed 133 Merit Badges and had over 200 nights camped, including 18 Summer Camps. One was a high-adventure sailing camp. All three suffered through covid, which meant attending online camps. “They hiked over 270 miles and performed well over 330 hours of community service, and this does not include any of their many, many hours on their own Eagle Projects,” Jeremy Clark, Troop Scoutmaster, said.

Sheldon-Davis replaced small game guzzler #19 for Nevada Fish and Game here in the Lahontan Valley. Thibodaux did a renovation project for Fallon Youth Baseball at the Minors' field score booth and storage garage. Clark designed and built a Gaga Pit for his youth group at Oasis Community Church.

“An Eagle Scout Court of Honor marks the end of one journey and the commitment to another; a commitment to better Scouting where all may participate, a commitment to better citizenship, and a commitment to be an example of leadership to all,” said Jace Slentz, Troop 1776 Chaplain Aide on Saturday.

Sheldon-Davis and Thibodaux will attend a four-year college, and Clark will start his own business as a small boutique boarding and dog training facility after graduation from Oasis Academy and WNC in the spring of 2026.

If your son is interested in joining Troop 1776, please reach out to Committee Chairman Melissa Fecht at 360-510-7882.
