The Tenth Judicial District Court convened Tuesday, November 19 with Judge Thomas Stockard presiding.

Sonnie Anzaldua appeared for a Change of Plea Hearing. Having previously pled not guilty, he pled guilty to the Category C Felony of Battery Causing Substantial Bodily Harm, which carries a potential penalty of 1-5 years in a Nevada State Prison and a fine up to $10,000. A Pre-Sentence Investigative Report was ordered, and sentencing was set for January 21,2025.  

Kelly Anne Conway, in custody, pleaded guilty to the Wobbler charge of Attempt to Commit Burglary of a Business which may be sentenced as either a Category D Felony with a potential penalty of 1-4 years in prison a fine of up to $5,000, or as a Gross Misdemeanor, punishable by up to 364 days in jail and a fine up to $2,000.  The court scheduled sentencing for January 2, 2025.  

Darrin Ray Dummer appeared for sentencing on the Gross Misdemeanor of Abuse, Neglect, or Endangerment of a Child Not Causing Substantial Bodily or Mental Harm which he pled guilty to in September. Judge Stockard stated that according to the Psychological Risk Assessment, Dummer is eligible for probation.  

Deputy District Attorney Priscilla Baker told the court that although Risk Assessment provided certain facts, the state wanted to point out the time frame noting it was over twenty minutes that the officer documented her three-year-old was left home alone. 

Alternate Churchill County Public Defeder (APD) Wright Noel asked for probation for his client. Judge Stockard sentenced the charge as a Gross Misdemeanor and granted Dummer probation on a suspended sentence of 364 days in jail. Additionally, the court ordered obtain a substance abuse evaluation and for Dummer to follow the recommendations made therein.
