The Churchill County School District Board of Trustees has hired Cameron Sorensen, a Greenwave graduate from Churchill County High School, as the new Human Resources Manager.

Sorensen attended Colorado State University, where he received a Master's in HR Management. He has over six years of experience in the private sector, specializing in HR consulting, project management, data analysis, and HR operations.

During his career, Sorensen has led national onboarding initiatives for a prominent public accounting firm, enhancing the onboarding process for over 500 new hires annually. As an HR consultant, he has successfully managed projects across all HR functions, including talent acquisition, payroll, performance management, and HR technology implementations. His ability to translate complex data into actionable insights has consistently improved HR strategies and business outcomes.

He looks forward to bringing his experience into the HR manager role for the district to help cultivate a positive, productive, and result-driven HR function.

Most importantly, Cameron is excited to be back in Fallon, where he looks forward to reconnecting with friends and family and contributing to the community that played a significant role in his development. He is eager to enjoy summer weekends at Lake Lahontan, explore the surrounding mountains, and take advantage of everything the Nevada desert offers.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
