The library has reading programs for all ages from pre-kindergarten through adult. Reading and discussing books together is a fantastic way to make friends and explore new worlds. There are:
- “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” encourages youngsters to read age-appropriate books before entering school. Library staff suggest and offer book titles. Recognition is given for every 100 books read on the way to 1,000! Sign-ups are accepted at any time at bit.ly/CCL1000BBK.
- In-person children’s story time meets on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Each week’s story time will feature the same content. Children’s Librarian Miss J reads picture books to children and offers a craft to accompany most stories. It is geared toward children ages 3-5, but all kids are welcome to participate.
- Reading with Rover also takes place on April 18 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Children read books to dogs to improve their reading skills and confidence in front of a decidedly captive audience. Bonus: our furry friends are great listeners.
