Churchill County School District has partnered with Paper, an online tutoring service, to bolster its students' academic support. This collaboration aims to provide unlimited access to trained tutors, allowing students in grades 4-12 to seek assistance, tackle challenges, and enhance their academic confidence, all without incurring any costs for families.

Paper operates as an online, on-demand tutoring service, offering 24/7 academic support. Superintendent Derild Parsons emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Whether students encounter hurdles in their homework, are preparing for tests, or seek guidance on their writing assignments, expert assistance will always be within reach.” Paper's services extend across all subject areas and are available in multiple languages.

The tutoring platform, as described by Paper, employs tutors who have undergone specific training to provide expert academic support through a secure, chat-based platform. The emphasis is on fostering deeper learning by prompting students with guiding questions and offering timely encouragement rather than providing direct answers.

Superintendent Derild Parsons expressed optimism about the impact of this collaboration on students, stating, “This tool will be invaluable for our students. With Paper at their fingertips, they can access additional assistance beyond the classroom, reinforcing their academic preparedness and success.” The Superintendent emphasized that this initiative aligns with the district's commitment to eliminating barriers and supporting student success.

Already in use at Numa, the Middle School, and the High School, Paper has garnered positive feedback from students and staff. CCHS Vice Principal Reema Pulsifer observed students utilizing Paper during classroom walk-throughs and noted, “It's fantastic to commence the New Year with a support system that extends beyond school hours. CCHS students are eager to explore the Paper platform and find it remarkably user-friendly.”

To access Paper's services, students in grades 4-12 can log in using their username and password via Clever, ensuring round-the-clock availability for academic assistance. This collaborative effort between the school district and Paper underscores the district's commitment to providing comprehensive support within and outside the classroom and fostering an environment where students can thrive academically.
