City of Fallon Recognizes Track Athletes
Fallon City Council members and Mayor Ken Tedford acknowledged CCHS track students for their outstanding achievement in track and field during the 2018-2019 school year on Wednesday, May 29th. The 4 x 100 relay team won the state competition recording an impressive time of 43.47 seconds. Colton Peterson, Reid Clyburn, Trevor East, and Johnathon Cisneros were awarded plaques from the City for their dedication, hard work, and achievement. A second plaque of recognition was awarded to Colton Peterson, who broke the CCHS record for the 200-yard dash, running it in 21.83 seconds. Peterson’s time broke the 33-year-old record previously held by Steve Heck in 1986. Additional records were broken this semester in pole vaulting by Allie Lister. During the March 23rd Elks track meet, Lister vaulted to 10’, a remarkable six inches higher than the previous record of 9’6” held by Maddie Allegre in 2013. Lister then went on to beat her own record at the State finals for a height of 10’6.” In total, Lister’s height exceeded the previous record by an entire foot. Mayor Tedford congratulated the athletes, and recognized that have worked hard and worked together and have a great deal of which to be proud.   Never miss the local news -- read more on The Fallon Post home page.
