Alan Clark Skinner

December 26, 1973 – July 16, 2023
Alan Skinner

Alan was born in Las Vegas to Clark H. Skinner and Cora Day and died at the age of 49.

Clark and Cora moved their family to Fallon, Nevada. It was there that Alan learned to enjoy life, meeting and making friends along the way. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, building, off-roading, and being with his family and friends.

Alan participated in the Fallon High School Rodeo, even going to Gillette, Wyoming, for Nationals in 1993. His circle of friends continued to grow larger than life.

Alan loved to learn, and in 2010 he moved to Eureka, Nevada, to work at Ruby Hill, where he learned to operate all the big boy toys. Alan was a very lucky man. At the Barrick company Christmas Party, he won a round-trip plane ticket to anywhere in the USA (excluding Hawaii). Alan chose to fly to Maine so that he could have “real” Maine Lobster.

Alan loved to explore, whether it be the mountains, trails, old mining towns, or new places. Some of Alan’s fondest memories were being in the mountains, picking pine nuts, and hunting for the biggest buck elk. He loved to share the outdoors with his children, taking them hunting, fishing, or simply out on the four-wheelers. Alan loved working all the crazy shifts at the mine because that meant he had more days to travel. He most recently visited the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Clark H. Skinner and Cora Day Skinner-Wnuk, and his brother Justin Skinner.

Alan is survived by his children: Ashley (David) Story of Spokane, Washington; Trenten (Morgan) Marion of Fallon; David Skinner of Reno; and John Skinner of Carlin; Grandchildren Leo and Aspen; Nieces and sister-in-law McKenzie (Andrew) Hayward, Reba Skinner, Cammie Skinner, and Debbie Skinner; great-nieces DonnaMae, Brynlee, and Adalynn.

Come as you are and share the stories and memories of Alan at Laura Mills Park on Saturday, September 9, at 3 p.m. It was Alan’s wish to be laid to rest with his dad in Cedar City, Utah, and his mom in Las Vegas, Nevada. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
