It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Robison.
He was born on January 25, 1935, to Ruby and Miles Robison in Reno, Nevada. Bill was raised in Fallon, attended local schools, graduating from Churchill County High School in 1952. In 1953 he joined the Navy and was stationed at various places throughout the U.S., Japan, and Guam. After 20 years in the Navy, he retired in 1973 as a Chief Aviation Electronics Technician. Upon his retirement he attended Southwestern Junior College and San Diego State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology. He then began a second career as a petroleum geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1981 he transferred to the Bureau of Land Management in Ely, Nevada, where he was an area geologist working in oil, gas, and hard rock mining. In 1993 he finished his career as a geologist, retiring for a second time.
Bill will be missed. He was a loving husband, dad, brother, grandpa, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his wife, Betty; his daughter, Lynn Robison, and step-children, Daniel (Debbie), Jacqueline, and Rosalie Allen, grandchildren, Chandler (Shannon), Crystal, Cameron (Tomi), Christina, and Carson and 6 great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Ruby, his brother, Donald, and twin baby sisters, Barbara and Beverly Robison.
Services with full military honors will be held on August 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
