Foster Kids’ Christmas 2022 -- a Community Thank You

Foster Kids’ Christmas 2022 -- a Community Thank You
The Mary Sauer Kids Closet

Christmas was a complete success for our local foster care kids this season. In the last two months, hundreds of toys were donated, over 165 gifts were wrapped, and over 45 kids had their personal wish lists fulfilled. It is a truly amazing thing each year to watch the individuals in our community step up and help to make our local foster kids’ toy wishes come true.

A huge thank you to the local motorcycle clubs who continued their tradition of the Christmas Toy Run and many other community members’ generosity that helped fulfill many Christmas wishes and fill up the Mary Sauer Memorial Foster Kids Toy Kloset for the upcoming year. This year received donations from the Hearts of Gold Quilters, Alpha Theta Beta Sigma Phi, Barb Murray, Sharon Peters, Terra Koenig, Judy Woods, Starr Friedenthal, Naomi Reeves, Kim Wadsworth, Mary Sorenson, Bailey Barton, Kennedy Brown, Ann Bloomfield, Lonnie Boester, Vonda Norcutt, Bernadette & Bob Francke and many Fitness for $10 gym members who donated coats and pajamas.

Year-round we take new toy donations for ages 1 month - 17 years. The popular toys are ones we have all loved like Legos, Lincoln Logs, jewelry kits, board games, and art kits. Stay tuned to The Fallon Post for future events for foster kids and families along with fundraising opportunities.

I honestly can’t believe you are gone…..you were a wonderful human being, with a HUGE heart and soul. Hearing this makes my heart break! You are forever in our hearts, and I can say I feel blessed that I was able to know you! Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
