Obituary -- Brian Wayne Baley
Brian Baley

Brian Wayne Baley passed away April 6, 2022. He was born March 30, 1954, in Klamath Falls Oregon, and grew up in Tulelake California. He graduated from College of the Redwoods then attended Oregon State University, returning to Tulelake to farm the family farm with his father and brothers.

Brian moved to Fallon, Nevada in 1987 and went to work at the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District where he expertly delivered water to the farmers and ranchers of the Lahontan valley for 32 years. His favorite hobby was fishing and he spent many vacations on a boat at Shasta Lake, California with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Brianna Baley, brothers John Baley and sister-in-law Debbie Baley, Keith Baley and sister-in-law Donna Baley, nieces Angela Walls and Staci Edgar, and nephew John Baley.

He is predeceased by his father John Baley, mother Kathryn Baley, and his brother Kevin Baley.

Brian requested that no funeral service be held but asked that donations to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital be sent in his memory.

Sorry to just hear about Brian's passing. Cousin Brian was a good friend as well and we spent many hours in the bowling alley in Tulelake as well as stirring up a little trouble on occasion with our parents. RIP Brian

I am so sad to hear of Brian’s passing. I attended school with Brian from age 10 to our graduation in. 1972. Brian was a great guy, and always such a good sport . Mainly he tired to stay out of trouble with Greg Schmidli. May his family be blessed with comfort. Truly, you could not find such a good person.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon ManComment author: Pam BitschenauerComment text: Ken, thank you for your kind words about Scott our "Mellon Man". My husband and I used to visit with Scott quite often when we lived in Fallon and then whenever we had the chance to as we passed through town. He was truly a good person and will be sorely missed.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 3:15 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
