Churchill County Offers RV Camping To Evacuees
Churchill County Road Department personnel prepare the evacuation site on Aug. 31.

Author: Anne McMillin, PIO

Churchill County has opened up 20 acres for RV camping and welcomes evacuees from the Caldor Fire.

Located at 485 Miner’s Road, signage will direct evacuees to the RV camping site from both the Sheckler Road and Highway 95 south entrances in Fallon. Proof of residency in the evacuated areas is required for admittance. Those arriving will be asked to register and, based on RV length, be assigned a space number on the site. No tent camping is permitted.

Small, household pets (e.g., cats, dogs, birds) that can be contained are permitted. There is currently no accommodation for livestock.

The evacuation site will have water delivery, trash collection, and a septic drain, but no power hook-ups.

Light poles are at the four corners of the property for night security and the Churchill County Sheriff will conduct regular patrols. A 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. noise curfew is in effect.

For questions, please call Churchill County Parks & Recreation (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at (775)423-7733. After hours call (775)427-6679 or (775)427-6644.
