Changes at the Stillwater Marsh

Changes at the Stillwater Marsh
Submitted by the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge Complex -- There is a new manager at the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge Complex. Carl Lunderstadt started as the new manager on December 9, 2018, but is not new to the refuge or to Fallon.  He and his family moved here in 2007 when he was selected as the Deputy Refuge Manager. Over the past 11 years Carl has been seen at the refuge, on the ball fields as a little league baseball and softball coach, at Parkside Bible Fellowship as the AWANA Commander, at the high school helping out with CCHS football games and track meets, and down at the fairgrounds picking up horse jumps at Boots & Britches horse events.  He and his wife Kristi and their two children Abby and Austin enjoy Fallon’s rural lifestyle and like to go camping, hunting, hiking, and horseback riding. Carl has been with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for over 23 years and has worked on three different refuges in Alaska and Nevada.  His experience also includes working with fisheries managers in Russia and training protected area managers in Saudi Arabia. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from Central Washington University and a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  Carls says being selected as the Refuge Manager has been a highlight of his career and a truly humbling experience. He looks forward to working for the community to make the Stillwater Refuge a great place to hunt and enjoy wildlife.  Any questions, suggestions, or concerns, can be directed to Carl at 775-423-5128 x235 or by email at [email protected].   Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon. Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
